Does Poor Posture Cause Back Pain?

More than you might realize! Think about that little old lady you saw in the grocery store. The one that is hunched over and shuffling behind the grocery cart. Look at your old family pictures and notice who has head tilts and poor posture. Research shows that poor posture can be linked to putting extra stress and strain on your back.
Here are 4 quick tips to improving your posture!

  1. If you sit a lot, make it a point to change position every 20 or 30 minutes. Stand up & stretch.
  2. Sit with your hips all the way back in the chair. Take advantage of the lumbar support.
  3. When standing, make sure you shift your weight from leg to leg.
  4. When shoveling snow or raking leaves, alternate your shoveling to each side (5 times per side).
